IBPS Clerk exam begins on December 8; know details here

New Delhi, DECEMBER 8: Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has begun IBPS Clerk 2018 preliminary exam in online mode for the recruitment of clerical cadre. The exam is being held on December 8, 9, 15, and 16 across multiple exam centres in 195 cities in India. IBPS Clerk prelims examination is being conducted for those candidates who have registered successfully for the examination.
Candidates had to carry a copy of their admit card of IBPS Clerk 2018 along with one of the photo identity proofs - Voter ID Card, Passport, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Employee ID and Bank Passbook with photograph to the examination centre. Candidates are not being allowed to enter the examination hall without the admit card and photo ID proof.
IBPS Clerk prelims exam comprises of three subjects - English language, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, carrying 100 questions for 100 marks, whereas the mains examination General/Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability, Computer Aptitude and Quantitative Aptitude contains 190 questions for 200 marks. Candidates are required to complete prelims exam within one hour while candidates will have two hours and thirty minutes for completing the mains examination.
After the exam, IBPS will not release any answer key of IBPS Clerk prelims. IBPS will declare the result of IBPS Clerk 2018 prelims exam in December. Candidates who will qualify the IBPS PO prelims exam will have to appear for mains, which is scheduled to be conducted on January 20, 2019. Qualified candidates have to secure more than or equal to the cutoff marks as prescribed by the examination authority.
This year, IBPS has announced as many as 7079 vacancies for clerical cadre. As per the official figures of last few years, it’s expected that over 30 lakh candidates will appear in IBPS Clerk exam this year too.
