IBPS SO 2018 prelims examination begins; know complete details

NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 29, 2018: Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is conducting IBPS SO prelims exam on December 29 and 30 in online mode for two hours. The exam is being held for the post of Specialist Officers across 177 exam cities.

Candidates were required to carry IBPS SO admit card and one photo identity proof - Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, PAN card, Passport, Driving License and Bank Passbook to the exam centre. The admit card and ID proof of candidates have to bear the same name as that on the admit card of IBPS SO 2018. The admit card could be downloaded from the official website -  https://ibps.in.

IBPS SO prelims exam for Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari posts have 3 sections – English Language, Reasoning and General Awareness with Special Reference to Banking Industry.  Reasoning and General Awareness with Special Reference to Banking Industry have 50 questions each for 50 marks, while English has 50 questions for 25 marks whereas for the posts of IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer there are 3 sections -  Quantitative Aptitude, English and Reasoning. The exam for these four posts have a total of 150 questions for 125 marks.

After the exam, IBPS will declare the result for prelims exam in January 2019 in online mode. Based on the result of IBPS SO 2019 prelims, candidates will be shortlisted for the mains exam.

The mains exam is scheduled to be conducted on January 27, 2019, in online mode. Candidates qualifying in the mains exam will be eligible to appear for the interview. The final IBPS SO result 2018 will be prepared by calculating the marks obtained in the mains exam and interview.

IBPS conducts IBPS SO in three stages – Prelims, Mains and Interview and the result is declared separately for all the stages. This year, as many as 1599 vacancies have been announced by the exam conducting authority to select candidates in its Specialist Officers posts in 20 Public Sector Banks.
