ICAI awards membership to 2300 candidates during annual Convocation

NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 11: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has award certificates of membership to over 2300 new members and facilitate 22 rank holders of the recent CA examinations during its annual convocation.
Praising the CA professionals, Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi said, “The skills and intellect possessed by CA’s through their training in audit, account and law can be further leveraged in Governance and Administration of the country.”
The 20th Convocation ceremony this year has been organized simultaneously at 9 cities i.e. Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Kanpur, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Delhi. The first phase of Convocation has already been held on February 1, 2019 at the above 9 cities wherein 4271 members were awarded Membership Certificate.
Speaking at the event CA. Naveen N. D. Gupta, President, ICAI said, “As member of this institution we must all take great pride that ours is not only the largest but one of the best accounting body in the world. Globally the degree awarded by ICAI is valid in 6 out of the seven continents of the world. It is also worth mentioning that ICAI now holds the copyright for the internationally acclaimed IFRS system.”
The ICAI conducts Convocation twice every year to award certificates of Membership to newly enrolled Chartered Accountants and to promote bonhomie in the CA fraternity. The Convocation is intended to bring young members of the profession under the umbrella of the fraternity of Chartered Accountants and foster a sense of belongingness to the profession and the Institute.
