The court also asked the ICAI to ensure strict adherence to SOP for conducting CA July 2021 exams.

Here are the important points from Court’s observations.

  1. ICAI CA July 2021 will be held as per schedule under strict observation of safety protocols against COVID-19.

  2. Candidates who are affected by COVID-19, or have post-COVID complications may exercise the opt-out option. Such candidates whose family members are affected with COVID-19 may also opt out.

  3. In this case, an RTPCR report is not mandatory, a report by a medical practitioner will be legitimate to opt-out and it will not be considered as an attempt.

  4. Such candidates will be allowed to repeat Old and New courses in 2021.

  5. Such candidates may appear in the November session of CA exams.

  6. ICAI must allow opt-out to the candidates in case of a last-minute change of exam centre and it will not be counted as an attempt.

  7. The court has asked the ICAI to ensure that all safety measures are followed as per SOP. The ICAI will be responsible for the arrangement of infrastructure and human resources for conducting the CA exams.

  8. ICAI should assuage the candidates. And, in any case, if a candidate gets COVID-19 during the exam, he/she will be allowed to opt-out and, it will not be considered as an attempt. Such candidates will be allowed to appear in the November cycle of CA exams.

The ICAI will conduct CA July 2021 exams from July 5, 2021. The test will be conducted in offline, test centre mode. The admit card for ICAI CA July 2021 has already been issued on June 21, 2021.
