ICAI CA Exams December 2021: COVID-19 guidelines, instructions

CA December 2021 exams will be conducted from December 5 to December 20, 2021, in offline mode. The ICAI has released a series of exam day guidelines for the candidates appearing in the exams.

NEW DELHI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will conduct the ICAI CA December 2021 from December 5, 2021. The exam will be conducted in offline mode, therefore, the institute has released a set of guidelines in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Candidates appearing in CA December 2021 exams will have to follow COVID-19 guidelines and instructions that have been released by ICAI on its official website. These guidelines are applicable for all levels of CA exams - CA Foundation, CA Intermediate and CA Final.

The CA admit cards for December exams have already been issued to candidates who have submitted the CA 2021 exam form for the session. Candidates can download the CA admit card by logging into the ICAI exam portal.

The COVID-19 guidelines and important instructions are divided into three segments as mentioned below.

ICAI CA Exam Day Guidelines for Candidates

  • All candidates should download their CA admit card in advance from the official website along with the self-declaration form.

  • Candidates must reach the CA exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned on their admit card.

  • It is mandatory for all candidates to wear a face mask at all times and follow the social distancing norms set by authorities.

  • ICAI has also allowed candidates to carry a transparent bottle of drinking water and 50/100 ml bottle of hand sanitiser.

  • After the completion of the exam, candidates will be permitted to move out in an orderly manner one candidate at a time.

  • All candidates are advised by ICAI to bring their own items like a pen, pencil, calculators, water bottle and related items. Borrowing/lending/exchange of the items during the exam time in the exam hall is strictly prohibited

ICAI CA Exam Day Guidelines for Centre Superintendents and Observers

  • No risk status in the Aarogya Setu app installed in mobiles of the CA examination staff is mandatory

  • Proper/ Adequate social distancing as per MHA guidelines should be maintained by candidates and staff.

  • The examination functionary will also have to go for the body temperature thermal scanning and hand sanitization at the time of entry to the CA exam centres 2021.

  • Invigilators who will be asked to help a candidate in resolving any issue will be required to sanitize their hands before and afterwards (without removing gloves).

  • Display signages and markings must be arranged beforehand.

  • Wearing a face mask is mandatory for all staff members.

  • Sufficient arrangement of the drinking water in 250 ml disposable plastic bottles at room temperature will be made in the exam centres.

  • Observers shall visit the CA exam centre a day prior to the commencement of the CA December 2021 exams to ensure that proper arrangements relating to exams are done.

Guidelines for Examination Centres

  • To ensure safety and hygiene every day, deep sanitization of the examination rooms, common areas and washroom will be carried out.

  • Liquid handwash/soap shall be made available for washing hands will be available.

  • Sufficient number of thermo guns for temperature check of candidates will be available.

  • There will be additional notice boards, display signages for the guidance of candidates to display the location of rooms/sitting plan.

  • The premises of the CA exam centre will be divided into different wings separately highlighting them as Wing A, B and so on.

  • Entry gates will be opened at least one hour before the scheduled time of CA exam commencement.
