ICAI’s largest accounting career counselling achieves Guinness World Record

The ICAI CA event was organized in Jaipur at over 300 different places and nearly 200,000 students from all around the country participated.
NEW DELHI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) set a Guinness World Record for conducting the largest accounting career counselling session ever held in a single location. The ICAI held a mega event titled ‘Career in Accounting & Finance for Youth (CAFY) and Super Mega Career Counselling Programme- Bhavishya ki Raah’ in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
With an overwhelming turnout of school students, a total of 3,933 students gathered to attend the largest accounting lesson. “The event was organized at over 300 different places and nearly 200,000 students from all around the country got to experience it,” the institute said.
The event was conducted to enlighten students about the prospects in commerce and Chartered Accountancy (CA). Students were also able to interact with professionals about career and array of opportunities available upon completion of the course.
“This historic endeavor underscores ICAI's dedication to promoting the fields of accounting and finance among the youth, as well as its relentless pursuit of excellence in education and professional development,” it said.

At the event, ICAI president Aniket Sunil Talati said: "With thousands of students participating from across India, we witness the future of our nation. Our mission emphasizes the significance of commerce and accounting, showcasing the diverse opportunities Chartered Accountancy offers.”
“Becoming a CA is not just a milestone; it's the beginning of a career journey filled with endless possibilities. Chartered Accountants are the pillars of nation-building, more than record-keepers; they're conscience keepers. This program unveils the countless opportunities in commerce and Chartered Accountancy," he added.
During the inaugural session today, ICAI vice-president Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal said: "We're here to stress the importance of commerce education and its vast career opportunities. Among India's 3,500 career choices, commerce shines with its unique advantages. Focused on finance and accounting, it prepares you to contribute significantly to our nation's financial stability. Chartered Accountants play a crucial role in nurturing companies, managing finances, and facilitating tax collection, not just performing financial audits. As India's economy grows, the significance of financial and accounting services in shaping our GDP, growth rate, and demographic dividend cannot be underestimated."
