ICAI to conduct CA Final exams twice a year, starting from May 2026

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced a significant revision in the frequency of the CA Final Examination. The institute will now conduct the CA Final Examination twice a year instead of three times.

As per the official notification, ICAI will conduct the CA Final Examinations 2026 twice a year in May and November, starting from May 2026 CA exam and onwards.

“The Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has decided that CA Final Examinations shall be conducted twice a year in the months of May and November with effect from May 2026 Chartered Accountants Examination and onwards,” according to the official notification by the ICAI.

Presently, the CA final exams are being conducted thrice a year in the months of January, May and September. The decision in the reduction of frequency comes after getting feedback from the stakeholders.

The CA final exam is conducted by the ICAI. It is the third and last course of level of Chartered Accountancy.
