‘Factually Incorrect’: ICAI refutes media reports on ‘new exam authority’ to conduct CA exams

Download NowICAI Announcements : The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has dismissed news reports circulating on social media about setting up a “new authority” to conduct ICAI Chartered Accountant (CA) exams 2026 and has cited it as “factually incorrect” information.
As per the official ICAI notice, ICAI came across several “media reports” circulating online regarding a proposal by the government to make a new authority to conduct CA and other professional exams.
The “misleading media reports” have created widespread “confusion and panic” among students pursuing the course and preparing for the upcoming CA May exams. ICAI further adds that the news clip is factually inaccurate and does not support any confirmation from the concerned authorities.
ICAI has advised students and other stakeholders not to be influenced by such “unverified reports” and encourages students to focus on their preparation for the upcoming exams scheduled in May.

ICAI dimisses fake reports
Recently, a news clip was circulating online claiming the government will constitute a centralised authority to conduct ICSI, ICAI, and ICMAI exams and that a committee of experts has already been empanelled to submit its report to the ministry of corporate affairs.
However, ICAI has refuted all the claims circulating online.
“ICAI has taken note of the matter, and it is clarified that the information presented in the said news clip is factually incorrect and not supported by any official confirmation from the ministry concerned,” the official ICAI notice reads.
ICAI CA May Exams 2026
ICAI will conduct the CA May foundation exams 2026 on May 14, 16, 18, and 20, while CA May Inter exams 2026 for group 1 will be held on May 3, 5, 7, and for group 2 on May 9, 11, and 13.
ICAI CA May final 2026 exams will be held for group 1 on May 2, 4, and 6, and group 2 on May 8, 10, and 12.
ICAI has also issued the admit cards for CA intermediate and final exams 2026 . Registered candidates can download their admit card using their ID and password on the official website, eservices.icai.org.
