NEW DELHI: The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has released a notification of instructions for all candidates who will appear in the CS Foundation 2021 June exam on August 13 and 14. Earlier, ICSI released exam day instructions which were divided into three different sections - General, Special, and Operating instructions.

Adding to the above, in a notification dated August 4, 2021, ICSI notified that the exam can be taken in either of the two modes - remote proctored/ online centre based.

Keeping in mind the modes of exam, ICSI has issued related instructions with respect to the CS Foundation exam 2021 June session which are also divided into three following categories.

Part 1: General Instructions -

  • Candidates must download the admit card and verify all the details. Any sort of discrepancy must be reported immediately to support.icsi.edu.

  • All candidates selecting the remote proctored mode of CS Foundation exam must download the Safe Exam Browser (SEB) in their respective desktops/ laptops

  • Along with the admit card of CS Foundation, candidates must keep in hand a student identity card/ identity card issued by the government.

  • All candidates must log in to the systems at least 40 minutes before the exam time mentioned on the admit card.

  • Candidates who have received an exemption in any paper(s) are not required to appear in that paper(s).

  • There will be no negative markings for wrong answers. However, to qualify, candidates must secure a minimum of 40% in each paper and an aggregate of 50% marks in all papers.

  • Candidates can use ordinary calculators (12 digits, 6 functions and 2 memories) and rough sheets (blank papers) for calculation purpose; on day 2 i.e. August 14, 2021, only.

  • Candidates who will be found using unfair means to qualify will be disqualified by the supervisor/invigilator.

Part 2: Instructions for appearing in remote proctored mode exam-

  • Candidates are advised to sit in a quiet room/ secluded area with a desk and chair (preferably plain background). The lighting should be adequate and no external noise should be there.

  • Candidates must dress appropriately.

  • Candidates must check in advance their laptops/ desktops, internet connectivity. The device must be fully charged.

  • All the settings must be much prior to the start of CS Foundation examination and tested properly

  • Details related to the login credentials will be provided by ICSI by email and sms to candidates who will opt for remote proctored mode.

  • The exam session will be monitored by live proctors.

  • Candidates must keep the camera at eye level.

  • ICSI will not allow any bio breaks or let candidates leave the test area before the submission.

  • In case of no network, disconnection or connectivity, candidates will be allowed to log in again from the last attempted question.

Note- For any technical assistance, candidates can call 02262507719 to resolve their issues. This helpline number will operate from August 7 onwards.

Part 3: Operating instructions-

  • Follow invigilators instructions during the exam.

  • Candidates must not close the window/ restart their systems once the exam has commenced.

  • The countdown clock will be displayed on the top right corner of the exam window. Candidates can keep track of the remaining time.

  • After completion, finishing and submission of the examination, a “Thank you” message will appear on the screen.
