IIIT B COMET Foundation: Students can avail scholarships worth Rs 15,000 per month. Students holding a diploma, BSc, BTech in science or engineering will be eligible to apply.

NEW DELHI: International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Bangalore) Bangalore’s COMET Foundation, has launched a certificate programme in future wireless communications. The programme aims to train participants with the skills and knowledge for the field of wireless communication, with a specific focus on 5G-NR systems.
The newly launched programme will provide hands-on experience with wireless system design at the IIIT-B COMET Foundation Testbed. Participants will also learn about 5G-NR wireless communication aligned with 3GPP standards.
The programme will also provide students with opportunities for internships and full-time roles in the wireless system design fields.
Students holding diploma, BSc, BTech in science or engineering, including final-year projects with an NOC are eligible to apply for the programme. They will also be able to avail a scholarship worth Rs 15,000 per month.
The selection process for the course includes an offline test, which will be conducted at the institute. Students who will fulfill the minimum criteria can join by paying the program fee, with scholarships available upon successful completion of modules 1 and 2, the institute added.
“The future of wireless communication lies at the heart of global connectivity, driving innovation in IoT, smart cities, autonomous vehicles, and more. Understanding 3GPP standards and mastering embedded system design are critical for shaping tomorrow’s communication networks,” the institute said.

This program is designed to empower students to lead in this transformative era with skills that are both relevant and future-focused.”

IIIT-Bangalore’s COMET Foundation is a Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) funded through the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) program of the Department of Science and Technology (DST). The technology hub operates under the guidance of the International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B).
The COMET Foundation primarily focuses in the domain of advanced communication systems, with an emphasis on translational research, entrepreneurial development, and skill-building, the institute further said.
