IIIT Bangalore to host RISE conclave to foster innovation, entrepreneurship

NEW DELHI: The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Bangalore) is set to host RISE (Research, Innovation, Society and Entrepreneurship) conclave to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, collaboration within academia and industry. The two-day conclave will begin on March 22. Participants can register for the conclave at iiitb.ac.in by March 22.
According to the official press release, RISE One-Day conclave the first day of the conclave will feature a summit with a theme on ‘Sustaining and Scaling up Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Academia’.
The conference will start with an inaugural session featuring the dean of IIIT Bangalore, Srinath Srinivasa. Keynote addresses by the founder of Campus Angels, Chandran Krishnan and Uday Prabhu, chief innovation officer at Bosch Global Software Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
A panel discussion on the role of corporates in evangelizing innovations on academic campuses, moderated by IIIT-Bangalore professor, Rajagopalan. The day will conclude with a campus start-up showcase, providing a platform for budding entrepreneurs to showcase their innovations, the institute said.
Speaking about the event, the chief executive officer of COMET Foundation, said: “RISE One Day conclave will be an opportunity for the ecosystem to collectively evolve strategies to build a sustainable, robust ecosystem to support Indian start-ups to build solutions for not only India but also for the world at large.”

IIIT-B RISE Open House: Research showcase
On March 23, the focus will shift to the RISE Open House, inviting participants to explore the latest developments in research and innovation at IIIT-B. Organizing chair of RISE, Shivakumar Malapaka, said: "The RISE Open House offers an opportunity for professionals, academics, and students to engage in dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange. It also offers a unique window into the vibrant research landscape at IIIT-B, showcasing ongoing projects and initiatives."
Participants can expect in-depth sessions on current research trends, presentations highlighting research activities at IIIT-B, and insights into collaborations with both industry and academia. The institute said the event will also provide details about educational pursuits focused on undergraduates and postgraduates, emphasising flexible intellectual property (IP) policies.
