IIM Ahmedabad Summer Placement: Hindustan Unilever top recruiter with 14 offers in 2nd cluster

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-Ahmedabad) conducted the second cluster of the summer placement process for the PGP class of 2023 on November 19. The entire IIM-A summer placement process was conducted online this year.

“We saw a large pool of recruiters with about 50 firms participating in the summer placement process. Hindustan Unilever was the top recruiter with 14 offers," IIM Ahmedabad said in an official statement.

The firms that participated in Cluster 1 comprised seven cohorts – Advertising and Media, Consumer Electronics, Consumer Goods and durables, Consumer Services, Conglomerates, Retail B2B and B2C and Pharma–health care.

IIM Ahmedabad will conduct the summer placements for Cluster 3 on November 22.

Top recruiters in Consumer Goods and durables were AB InBev, Asian Paints, Coca-Cola, Colgate, Dabur, HUL, ITC, Kimberly Clark, Mondelez, Nestle, P&G, Reckitt, and Wipro Consumer Care.

The Conglomerate cohort saw participation of regular recruiters like TAS, Adani, ABG, Piramal, Mahindra, Reliance, CK Birla and Bajaj. TAS was the top recruiter in the Conglomerates cohort with 7 offers, the IIM Ahmedabad statement said.

Amazon made the highest number of offers in the Retail B2B B2C cohort with participation of Flipkart as the other major recruiter.

The Media and Advertising cohort witnessed participation from recruiters like MXPlayer and Disney.

In the Pharma and healthcare domain, companies like Stryker and Dr. Reddy’s took part while new recruiters in this cohort included Apicore, PhableCare and PharmEasy, this year.

IIM Ahmedabad conducted the summer placement for the first cluster on November 16. The Boston Consulting Group was the top recruiter with 26 offers, followed by Kearney with 24 offers.

The firms that participated in Cluster 1 comprised five cohorts – investment banking & markets, management consulting, niche consulting, cards and financial advisory and private equity, venture capital & asset management.
