IIM Amritsar launches first two-year EMBA programme for working professionals

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Amritsar has launched a two-year Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programme for working professionals. The course will help learners enhance leadership capabilities, strategic sense, and the skills required to navigate dynamic and volatile environments effectively.
The EMBA course will be offered in a blended mode with a curriculum helping learners to take data-driven decisions, form analytical capabilities, and develop agility through organisational and digital transformation. It focuses on building an expertise in global uncertainties through innovation, effective communication and conflict resolution, enabling professionals to apply these learnings across industries and strengthen their profiles.
EMBA course curriculum, topics, benefits
The EMBA programme caters to professionals from diverse sectors including IT, HR, marketing, banking, financial services, manufacturing, supply chain , consulting, among others. In the first year, students will focus on building core management skills including entrepreneurship, finance , marketing, strategy, organisational behaviour and operations. In the second year, learners will study advanced topics such as security analysis, portfolio management and business intelligence. Integrated field projects and capstone simulations further enhance learning, providing real-world applicability.
Learners will study at three campus immersions during the programme’s tenure. Financial reporting, competition and strategy, consumer behaviour, operations research, business ethics, etc. are among the subjects offered under the course, in addition to two electives customised for specific learner profiles.
During the programme, students will learn through case studies, role plays, simulations and projects, ensuring a practical, application-oriented approach. The course will be delivered through TimesPro’s state-of-the-art Interactive Learning (IL) platform in Direct-to-Device (D2D) mode. Learners will have unlimited access to class recordings and remote library resources. Upon successful completion, learners will also gain IIM Amritsar alumni status.
