IIM Calcutta secures 100% summer placement for 475 MBA students; highest stipend at Rs 6.75 lakh per month

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM Calcutta) has announced the completion of its summer placements 2024 for the 61st batch of its Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme. The institute achieved 100% placements for 475 students. A total of 564 offers were made by 175 recruiters from various sectors.
According to the official press release, the placement week was conducted in a hybrid mode with multiple cross-functional roles. The average monthly stipend stood at Rs 1.89 lakhs per month, while the median was Rs 2 lakhs per month.
As per the data shared by the institute, the highest domestic monthly stipend was Rs 3.67 lakhs per month, and the highest international monthly stipend was Rs 6.75 lakhs per month. The top 5 percentile of students secured a monthly stipend of Rs 3 lakhs per month.

IIM Calcutta Summer Placement 2024: Top recruiters
The placement process involved the participation of firms from sectors like Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Manufacturing, Finance, Consulting, Technology, Analytics, Pharmaceuticals, Education, and others. “The cluster-cohort placement process that involved various policies such as “dream offer” enabled recruiters to find a better student-recruiter fit, making the overall process a win-win for both recruiters and students,” the official press release read.
According to the chairperson of placement activities, Ritu Mehta, “The outcome of the summer internship offers has yet again demonstrated the future readiness of our students in a highly competitive landscape. Globally, there is an ongoing recalibration of managerial jobs and pullback of job postings, hence we are very grateful to our recruiters to repose their trust in our students and our academic processes”.
