IIM Calcutta’s PGDBA class of 2020 gets outstanding placements

NEW DELHI: The placement process of the 2018-2020 batch of the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) programme of IIM Calcutta concluded with 56 out of 60 students getting placed.
Organizations across industries handpicked candidates for data and business driven roles from the class of 2020.
One student opted out to become an entrepreneur, an official statement from IIM Calcutta said.
"We are delighted at the achievement of our PGDBA students,” the PGDBA chairperson, Sahadeb Sarkar of IIM Calcutta said in the statement.
Average remuneration
The average remuneration recorded Rs 26.31 lakh per annum (LPA) surpassing last year's figure of Rs 25.05 LPA, showing a growth of 5%.
The maximum salary received for the batch was an international offer worth Rs 41.29 LPA.
Despite the economic slowdown, the median salary grew by 6% to reach a new high of Rs 24.59 LPA, the statement added.
“It is yet another promising program from IIM Calcutta and partner institutions ISI and IIT Kharagpur that continues to deliver excellent value to the students and the recruiters," Sahadeb Sarkar added.
Recruiters and sectors
The BFSI sector attracted 57% of the total offers and emerged as the biggest sector for this hiring season.
Some of the prominent recruiters who participated in the Final Placement Process were Adani, UGRO Capital, Alshaya Group, ZS Associates, Envestnet Yodlee, EXL Analytics, and ICICI Bank.
PGDBA is a 2-year full-time residential program offered jointly by three premier Institutes of the country – IIM Calcutta, ISI Kolkata, and IIT Kharagpur.
The course offers a 6-month industry Internship, which helps the students to prove their mettle in the industry.
