NEW DELHI - The Common Admission Test, popularly known as CAT is just three months away and candidates should be well aware about the exam pattern for the same. The CAT exam date is November 29. Going by the past years trends, the CAT exam pattern includes three sections from which the questions will be asked. As part of CAT exam, the sections from which questions will be primarily asked include quantitative ability, reading comprehension and verbal ability, data interpretation and logical reasoning.

Know all about the CAT exam pattern 2020
The CAT exam will be of three hours of duration and it will include both multiple-choice questions (MCQ) as well as non-multiple choice questions. If we check the past year's question papers of CAT and after their analysis, it is found that normally there are 32-34 questions that are asked in each section.

Marking scheme For CAT exam 2020
According to the exam pattern, the CAT 2020 exam will be of a total of 300 marks. Candidates will be awarded three marks for every correct answer and they will lose marks if they answer the question incorrectly.

There will be 100 questions which the candidates will be required to answer in the CAT exam. Each section in the CAT exam will be of one hour of duration. If the candidate does not answer the question, then he or she will not lose any marks. For Non-mcq type questions, candidates will be required to type their answers.
CAT Syllabus 2020
Some of the topics in the quantitative ability section which form part of CAT syllabus are number system, algebra, mensuration, geometry, time and work. In the logical reasoning and data interpretation section, normally the questions will be based on seating arrangement, syllogism, tables, blood relation, graphs, data caselets. Meanwhile, in the verbal ability and reading comprehension section, there will be questions based on the comprehension passages as well as sentence completion, para jumbles and para-summary.
About CAT Exam 2020
The Common Admission Test will be conducted Indian Institute of Management, Indore. The CAT exam is held every year either in the last week of November or first week of December for those candidates who are aspiring to take admission in the various MBA programmes which are offered at the IIMs. Qualifying the CAT exam is the first step towards making one’s way to the IIM.
