NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management will be starting the Common Admission Test 2023 (CAT 2023) registration from August 2. The MBA entrance exam for admission to various management offered by to IIMs will be conducted on November 26, as per the CAT notification 2023 published today at the iimcat.ac.in.

Aspirants who wish to study management courses at IIMs must note that CAT 2023 score is an important aspect for consideration in the selection process, however, the institutes have formulated their own eligibility criteria to grant admission such as academic cut-off and relative weights.
IIMs may also use the previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience and other similar inputs in short-listing of candidates at various stages of the selection process, the CAT 2023 official website read.

The IIM CAT 2023 question paper will have three sections - verbal ability and reading comprehension (VARC), data interpretation and logical reasoning (DILR) and quantitative aptitude (QA). Candidates were given a total of 2 hours to complete the exam carrying 66 questions, as per last year’s exam pattern.
The IIM CAT 2023 syllabus, exam pattern and admission process of programmes other than postgraduate programmes (PGP), specific to each participating IIM, will be notified separately, the notification read.
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) - This section tests students’ verbal ability and knowledge in grammar. Types of questions include para-jumbles, sentence completion, inferences, reading comprehension, vocabulary, error correction in a paragraph.
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) - This section will have questions based on graphs, tables, logical reasoning of seating arrangement type questions, syllogism, blood relation, data caselets etc.
Quantitative Aptitude (QA) - Mathematics and application of formula will be tested in this section. Time and work, geometry, algebra, mensuration, number system related questions will be asked.
