CAT Dress Code 2025: Rules on jeans and accessories; what to wear, what not to carry

Use NowThe Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode, will conduct the Common Admission Test (CAT 2025) tomorrow, November 30. Candidates appearing for the CAT 2025 exam will have to follow certain guidelines and dress code at the exam centre. Here is a list of the CAT exam dress code for male and female candidates.

This year, around 2.95 lakh candidates are set to appear for the CAT exam 2025 in 170 cities across the country. The CAT 2025 exam will be conducted in three slots — slot 1 from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, slot 2 from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, and slot 3 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
Candidates must carry their CAT 2025 admit card along with a valid government-approved photo ID to the exam centre.
CAT dress code for male and female candidates
Male candidates are not allowed to wear shoes with thick soles, clothes with large buttons, or clothes with pockets. They can wear any comfortable clothing, such as shirts, T-shirts, or pants, as long as they do not have pockets.
Female candidates should not wear jewellery, ornaments or carry any metal objects, including earrings, nose pins, necklaces, anklets, bracelets or other metal accessories. They are advised to avoid excessive makeup and keep their hairstyle simple without any embellishments.
Mehndi, tattoos or unnatural markings on the body are not permitted, and candidates with such markings may be barred from taking the CAT exam .

Things not to carry to the CAT 2025 exam centre
Candidates are prohibited from carrying the following items inside the exam centre
- Bags
- Purses
- Pencil boxes
- Beepers
- Wristwatches
- Calculators
- Mobile phones
- Electronic devices
- Scanners
- Cameras
- Bluetooth devices
