NEW DELHI: After the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) in Kozhikode and Tiruchirappalli, IIM Lucknow has received flak for not following the roster and reservation policy. According to the data obtained in response to a Right to Information (RTI) application, zero positions have been filled under the Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) categories.

The All India OBC Students’ Association (AIOBCSA), which filed the RTI, found it “totally unacceptable” that the institute has not implemented the reservation system. “For what purpose reservations are meant for? Not a constitutional mandate? Totally not acceptable. IIM Lucknow is not following rosters and reservation policy,” the institute said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

As per the RTI, the total number of faculty positions for professor, associate professor, and assistant professor allocated to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and IIMs across the country is 153. Of this; 88 have been recruited from the general category, three from Other Backward Classes (OBC), two from Scheduled Caste (SC) for the various posts.
