IIM Sambalpur has started admissions for the 2026 batch of its UG courses in data science & AI and management & public policy

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur has started the admission process for the second batch of its undergraduate programmes for the 2026 academic session. Students can apply for two four-year bachelor of science courses: B.S. in data science & artificial intelligence and B.S. in management & public policy.
The programmes have been designed in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and focus on practical learning along with academic knowledge. The courses aim to prepare students for careers in technology, governance, analytics and management by combining classroom learning with industry exposure.
Apart from regular coursework, students will also get opportunities to work on live projects, internships and field assignments. The courses also offer multiple exit options under the NEP structure, allowing students to earn a certificate, diploma, degree or honours qualification depending on the duration of study.
For the B.S. in data science & AI programme, admissions will be based on JEE (Main) 2026 scores. Candidates must have secured at least 60 per cent marks in their qualifying examination, while those from SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwD and EWS categories need 55 per cent.

Admission to the B.S. in management & public policy programme will be through IPMAT 2026 scores conducted by IIM Indore. Shortlisted candidates for both programmes will also have to appear for an online personal interview.
The total fee for each programme is around Rs 25 lakh for four years, according to the institute’s official website. Applications for the 2026 batch are currently open.
The curriculum has been developed keeping current industry requirements in mind. The courses combine subjects such as AI, analytics, public policy, management, operations and technology to give students multidisciplinary exposure.
The institute said students will learn through case studies, workshops, industry interactions and AI-enabled classrooms. They will also take part in corporate and social internships to gain hands-on experience.

With a strong focus on technology and data-driven decision-making, we aim to nurture future-ready leaders.”
IIM Sambalpur has been expanding its academic and innovation ecosystem over the last few years. The institute inaugurated its permanent campus in 2024 and has introduced several initiatives related to sustainability, entrepreneurship and technology-driven learning.
The institute has also partnered with organisations such as Flipkart, Amazon and SIDBI to support local weavers and regional entrepreneurship. Along with its flagship MBA programmes, IIM Sambalpur has been introducing new courses in emerging areas including fintech, analytics and public policy.
The undergraduate programmes are aimed at building future-ready professionals with both technical expertise and practical problem-solving skills.
