IIMB & NSRCEL host Visionary Leadership Summit and Alumni Reunion ‘Drishti 2019’

NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 12: Students of the Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM) at IIM Bangalore (IIMB), in association with IIMB’s innovation and entrepreneurship hub, NSRCEL, hosted ‘Drishti 2019’ – a visionary leadership summit and alumni reunion. It is the second edition of ‘Drishti’.
In addition to the interesting keynote speeches and panel discussions, the event also included workshops on digital marketing and a hackathon night. The industry leaders showed a glimpse of what the future holds.
Professor G. Raghuram, Director, IIM Bangalore, spoke about the new infrastructure being built at the existing and the new IIMB campuses and how they are to be utilised in the best possible manner. He also shared his views on the PGPEM programme. “Everybody is in the programme for the learning value,” he added.
Sumit Chauhan, Head - Lifestyle Business, HARMAN International, spoke about the value and association of brands in an individual’s life. “Social media and influencers play a vital role. Everything is going mobile thanks to the penetration of smartphones, and the Internet of Things (IoT) is becoming a key factor in how people and brands want to transform themselves,” he said.
In the panel discussion on ‘Dealing with Technological Disruption’, Piyush Chowhan, CIO, Arvind Lifestyle, said, ‘Disruption is not about technology. It is about reinventing the business model you are working on. Chowhan predicted, ‘In 10 years, the regular job of a data scientist will not exist.’
Prof Anshuman Tripathy, a faculty member from the Production and Operations Management department at IIMB, moderated the panel discussion on ‘Digital Transformation.’ Professor Prakash Bagri, adjunct faculty, IIMB, moderated the discussion on ‘Dealing with Technological Disruption.’ Professor P.C. Narayan, an adjunct faculty member from the Finance and Accounting department at IIMN moderated the panel on ‘Alternative Finance’, while Madhuvathi Ananth, Head, Seller Marketing - Flipkart Marketplace, moderated the one on ‘Women Who Took up the Unconventional Path.’
