Bengaluru: 19-year-old B Tech student at Indian Institute of Science (IISc) was found dead in his hostel room. Police said that the student allegedly died by suicide. The deceased, identified as Rakshan, hailed from Chikkaballapura district. He was found hanging in his room on Thursday (August 6) morning, following which the authorities were alerted.

Police have found a handwritten note in his room and are examining the contents of the same. Police are verifying if the deceased was under any stress due to academic pressure or was there was any other reason that drove him to take the extreme step.

The body was handed over to his family after post-mortem examination. A case of unnatural death has been registered at Sadashivanagar Police Station here, police told PTI , adding that his family has not levelled any allegations or suspected any foul play in connection with the incident. Further investigation is underway.
