IIT BHU Placements 2024-25: More job offers, fewer PPOs; highest salary package at Rs 2.2 crore

Indian Institute of Technology Banaras Hindu University (IIT BHU) saw 17.4% increase in the placements over the last 4 years. The highest salary package offered was Rs 2.2 crore, while the highest internship stipend was Rs 5 lakh.

A total of 1,227 students got placed during the IIT BHU placements 2024-25 compared to 2021-22 when 1,045 were hired. The IIT BHU placement data revealed that the students received 289 pre-placement offers (PPOs) and 460 internships. However, the PPOs was lower compared to the previous year, when students got 322 offers.

The average salary also rose from Rs 22.4 lakh per annum (LPA) in 2022-23 to Rs 22.81 LPA in 2024-25, as per the last four year’s placement data. The number of job roles offered was just 246 in 2021-22, however, it increased to 530 in 2024-25 placements.

In an effort to enhance internships and placements via collaborations, the institute organised a Career Development Programme (CDP) and 11 sessions were held by experts on topics such as Quant Research, AI in Finance, Design Thinking, and CAE. Additionally, Ideathon and case competitions by Nutanix, Cisco, and Tredence were held, which saw over 600 participants.

IIT BHU Placements: Highlights

Twenty students from IIT (BHU) got accepted in Google Summer of Code (GSOC), which is one of the top open-source software Development programs in the world.

Five students were selected for Summer of Bitcoin 2025. Additionally, two IIT BHU students were chosen as mentees for the Linux Foundation LFX Mentorship

A team qualified for ICPC World Finals - 2025 to be held at Azerbaijan after finishing 7th in the Asia West regionals marking the third consecutive appearance of the institute in the globally renowned event.
