NEW DELHI, JUNE 27: IIT Bhubaneswar has been ranked 151-200 in Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2019. From the Indian scenario, the institute has been ranked 5th with premier national Indian Institutions. The Institute has been ranked at 03rd position in research citations in India. The Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings list the world’s best universities that are aged 50 years or are under.
“At IIT Bhubaneswar, we have been constantly striving to raise the standards of operations of the Institute on all fronts such as quality of education including learning, teaching, strengthening of research and fostering innovation towards providing holistic development of students along with improving quality faculty base. It is very satisfying to note THE ranks the institute at 3rd position on research citation in the country. A citation can be considered as an acid test for research quality and personally, I would like the Institute to further scale-up new heights. It is indeed very satisfying to see the Institute's position or rank going up in all the ranking frameworks in the country as well as at the global level. We are committed to making IIT Bhubaneswar a top-notch research hub locally, nationally and internationally” said Prof. R.V. Raja Kumar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar.
The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings apply the same methodology as the World University Rankings to assess research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. However, the weightings are recalibrated to reflect the profile of missions of young universities. The performance indicators are grouped into five areas: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation); citations (research influence); international outlook (staff, students and research); and industry income (knowledge transfer).
