IIT Bombay introduces one-year online certification in cybersecurity, software development

IIT Bombay's Certification Programmes 2025: Eligible applicants can apply for the online courses through the official website at trustedge.iitb.ac.in.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has introduced online certification programmes in Cybersecurity and Software Development. The 12-month courses are designed for working professionals, college faculty, and students in third or fourth year in engineering or computer science.
Eligible applicants can apply for the online certificate programmes through the official website at trustedge.iitb.ac.in .
Notably, the institute will commence the online classes for the professional certificate programmes in cybersecurity and software development from September 1, 2025.
Kameswari Chebrolu, lead faculty for the programmes, said: “We are bridging the critical skill gap our country faces through rigorous, accessible and highly hands-on learning.”
The classes for the certification course will be conducted online, and the institute will hold on-campus examinations. Interested candidates aiming to “build a deep expertise and real-world readiness in high-impact domains” can apply for the programme through the official portal.
Key features, careers scope of IIT Bombay’s new online programmes
Each programme consists of three structured courses, focusing on job-ready, in-demand skills. The curriculum includes weekly lab visits designed to provide hands-on experience with tools and environments used in organisations.
According to the institute, programmes offer “structured, rigorous instructional models combining in-depth conceptual learning with weekly labs on an innovative platform simulating real-world scenarios.”
The certification courses include proctored on-campus theory and lab examinations, followed by a campus immersion experience, allowing participants to directly interact with faculty and peers.
As per the career opportunities, upon successful completion of the 1-year programmes, candidates will be qualified for “high-demand” roles such as full-stack developer, security analyst, security architect, DevSecOps engineering, and many more.
