IIT Delhi CEP opens admissions for batch 3 of healthcare industry 5.0 programme; eligibility

The Continuing Education Programme (CEP) at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has announced admissions for batch 03 of its executive programme in healthcare for Industry 5.0. Applications for the programme will remain open until June 30, 2026.

The six-month programme will be delivered through live online classes and is scheduled to begin on August 22, 2026. Interested candidates can submit their applications until June 30, 2026. The programme is aimed at professionals seeking to understand the growing role of advanced technologies in healthcare and develop skills for a rapidly evolving industry.

The announcement comes at a time when India's digital health market is expanding, with growth being driven by the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, telemedicine, digital health records and technology-enabled healthcare delivery.

The programme is intended for professionals working in healthcare, MedTech, hospitals, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, diagnostics, operations and allied sectors.

IIT Delhi programme details

The course will be conducted through live online sessions every Saturday from 4 pm to 6 pm. The fee for the course is Rs 1,30,000 plus GST, along with an application fee of Rs 500 plus GST.

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in science, engineering or medical disciplines, including MBBS, Pharmacy, Nursing, BDS or an equivalent qualification, with at least 50 per cent marks or a 5.0 CGPA. Participants who successfully complete the programme and fulfil the required criteria will receive an e-certificate from CEP, IIT Delhi.

IIT Delhi focuses on future healthcare

The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including healthcare fundamentals, operations management, pharmaceuticals, drug delivery systems, big data analytics, Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 concepts, risk management, regulatory frameworks and a capstone project.

Participants will also explore the use of technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, cobotics, augmented and virtual reality, IoT, cloud computing, additive manufacturing and blockchain in modern healthcare systems.

Dinesh Kalyanasundaram, programme coordinator and associate professor, centre for biomedical engineering, IIT Delhi said, “Healthcare can no longer look at technology as an external layer. The next shift will come from professionals who can combine clinical understanding, engineering thinking and intelligent systems to improve patient outcomes, safety and efficiency. Industry 5.0 is about placing human expertise at the centre of this transformation.”
