NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi’s technology innovation hub I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC) has collaborated with the National Science Foundation (NSF) in the USA for research and development in cobotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML).

According to a statement from IIT Delhi, the Union ministry of science and technology’s department of science and technology (DST), with the help from the Indian embassy in Washington, enabled this partnership where IIT Delhi IHFC got selected for this collaboration. DST also funds IHFC under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS).

IIT Delhi and NSF, have strong linkages with researchers in cobotics, robotics, AI and ML, claims the institute. Both NSF and IHFC has disclosed details regarding additional funding for research and grand projects.

“I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), the TIH of IIT Delhi, as per a latest development will provide an additional INR 50,00,000/- towards the funding of the Cobotics projects for research and development. The IHFC will fund researchers working in the area of Medical Simulations, Drone Technology & Applications, Healthcare Robotics, Rehabilitation Robotics, Human-Robot Interactions, Intelligent Sensing & Secured Communications, and Industry 4.0 & beyond,” said SK Saha, project director of IHFC, who is also a professor at IIT Delhi.
