NEW DELHI, MAY 17: IIT Delhi and National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) Taiwan have signed an agreement to establish a Joint Doctoral Degree Program (JDP).

The agreement aims to develop an academic and student exchange between the institutions wherein PhD students who complete the program requirements will be awarded a joint degree by both institutions.

IIT Delhi Director Prof V. Ramgopal Rao and NCTU President Prof. Mau-Chung Frank Chang jointly signed the pact for the programme that will be funded by industry partners.

“This is indeed an important milestone in IIT Delhi’s internationalization efforts. I hope that in next one or two years we will reach a triple-digit figure in terms of student enrolment under this Joint Doctoral Degree Program with NCTU,” said Mr Rao.
