IIT Gandhinagar IKS lecture to decode ‘sacred mapping’ in pre-colonial Indian literature

IITGN lecture marks the sixth edition of the Introduction to Indian Knowledge Systems elective course, IKS 2022.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) will host a lecture titled “Sacred mapping and Meaning-making in pre-colonial Indian literature” by Arya Adityan on March 17, 2022, from 5:05 pm to 6 pm under the lecture series of the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) elective course.

Adityan is an alumna of IIT Gandhinagar who completed her MA programme in Society and Culture from IITGN and a PhD scholar of the Florida State University’s religion department. The lecture will include pre-colonial, pan-Indian and regional works of literature to understand the practice of sacred mapping.

The IITGN lecture marks the sixth edition of the Introduction to Indian Knowledge Systems elective course (IKS 2022). The elective course is conducted in online mode, where the lectures are live-streamed on the IIT Gandhinagar YouTube channel. The theme of the elective course is “Precolonial India’s Treasure House of Literatures”.

The IKS 2022 elective course is not just for IIT students, but open to anyone interested in India’s knowledge systems and cultural heritage. Interested candidates can join the course for free. Inorder to enroll for the programme, candidates are required to register online at: iks.iitgn.ac.in.
