IIT Gandhinagar, SERB to host national conclave on women in science and technology.

IIT Gandhinagar: The conclave will encourage entrepreneurship and help women engineers and scientists convert their innovations into technology.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) and the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) are together organising a national conclave on “Women in Science and Technology: Fostering Innovation.” The national conclave will be held at IIT Gandhinagar on September 29 and 30, 2022.
Women from the industry will facilitate various discussions in the field. The conclave will be an assembly of some of the most distinguished thinkers from India for a two-day event on September 29 and 30, 2022.

“Women in Science and Technology: Fostering Innovation” aims to “encourage women working in science, technology, and engineering fields to translate their innovative ideas into technology, instill the spirit of entrepreneurship in the participants, and facilitate discussions about translational research and its challenges”, said a statement issued by IIT Gandhinagar.
Women in STEM
More than 150 women scientists, engineers, postdoctoral fellows and researchers from the field will participate in this conclave to celebrate women in STEM. All the participants invited and previous recipients of Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) grants and fellowships and are currently working on diverse projects.

The conclave is an initiative to create a space with several technical sessions, including ‘Women in Leadership’; ‘Women in Industry and Technology Innovation’; ‘Challenges for Women in Industrial/Translational Research’; ‘Start-up opportunities for Women Researchers’. A plethora of leading experts from the industry and academia will apprise the participants with their insights and experiences on various topics.
IIT Gandhinagar has arranged a day-care facility for the toddlers of the women scientists and engineers participating in the event. This initiative will allow them to attend the event without worrying about their wards.
