IIT Guwahati launches online BSc honours in data science and artificial intelligence on Coursera

IIT Guwahati Online Courses: Class 12 passed students with mathematics will be eligible to apply from July 19. Classes will start in October.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has launched an online Bachelor of Science (honours) degree in data science and artificial intelligence on the online learning platform Coursera. The applications for the online BSc honours programme will open on July 19. Classes will commence in October 2023.

Any student who has passed Class 12 with mathematics as a compulsory subject can apply for the programme. Those students who registered and are eligible for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced (in any year) will get direct admission, while others can complete an online course and gain entry on the basis of their performance.

The online course allows multiple exits for learners and they can convert their credits into a certificate, diploma, degree or an honours degree. Students can also opt for campus visits to engage with teachers and fellow students.

IIT Guwahati said that students will get job placement support from the institute and an access to Coursera’s recruitment platform Coursera hiring solutions.

Professor Parameswar K Iyer, officiating director, IIT Guwahati said, “This program teaches students the digital skills they need to thrive in the modern workforce. They graduate knowing how to implement the latest AI and data science techniques in any field, setting them up for success in their careers.”
