IIT Guwahati opens applications for 3 new PG certificate programmes on Coursera
IIT Guwahati, Coursera launched PG Certificate programmes in Cloud Computing Applications, Deep Learning for Computer Vision, XR and UX Design and HCI.

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has invited applications for 3 new postgraduate (PG) certificate programmes on Coursera. The institute in collaboration with Coursera launched PG Certificate programmes in Cloud Computing Applications, Deep Learning for Computer Vision and XR and UX Design and HCI.
Interested candidates will have to submit their application form for the certificate programmes by September 21, 2022.
After completion of the course, the students will be issued certificates directly by the Centre for Education Technology, IIT Guwahati . Students will be able to attend live and interactive sessions with direct feedback from the faculty.
The institute informed students that the course will help them master core skill sets in each of the application domains. They will be able to learn through a practitioner’s curriculum that includes use cases, online labs and projects. It also gives candidates an opportunity to learn and network with peers based out of the United States, Canada, Australia, etc. who have already enrolled in the programme.

PG Certificate in Cloud Computing Applications
In India, Cloud-related roles have taken up 10% of the total jobs (November 2021) with 3 lakh active job seekers. The cloud market in India is expanding and expected to grow 26% by the end of 2022.
“The programme will help candidates to become an expert in designing, planning, and scaling Cloud implementations. The programme helps you master the core skill sets required to design and deploy dynamically scalable applications on three popular Cloud platform providers: AWS, Microsoft Azure and GCP,” IIT Guwahati said.
The programme will benefit IT professionals, project leads, managers in tech companies, data professionals, coding professionals and cloud developers in career growth.
Applicants who have a bachelor’s degree in any related field along with a basic understanding of coding (C/C++), algorithms and high-school level mathematics, will be able to apply.
PG Certificate in Deep Learning for Computer Vision and XR
Globally, the machine learning job market is projected to be worth 31 billion US dollars by 2024 – at an annual growth rate of 40 per cent over the last six years.
“This Postgraduate Certificate in Deep Learning for Computer Vision and XR will help learners to work with deep learning methods in the domain of Computer Vision and XR. It empowers them to design and deploy AR/VR systems using the Unity game engine and SDKs on both desktops and mobile platforms,” IIT Guwahati said.

“Learners who are interested in computational imaging, computer graphics, machine learning and human vision. Those interested in new imaging devices and computational methods for applications in VR/AR, entertainment and electronic games, robotic assisted technologies, etc. will find this programme to be especially interesting, it added.
PG Certificate in UX Design and HCI
CNN Money predicts the demand for UX designers to grow by 13% from 2017-2027. “This Postgraduate Certificate in UX Design and HCI equips professionals with the skills required to create useful, usable and engaging digital experiences via user-centric methodologies.
Graphic designers, front-end developers, UX researchers, marketing professionals and anyone who is interested in crafting awesome digital experiences can apply for this course.
“Elementary understanding of software like Figma, Adobe XD, Balsamic, Miro is recommended, but not required,” it said.
