IIT Guwahati Placement 2023: Students get 11 job offers worth over Rs 1 crore on day one

IIT Guwahati Placement 2023: The Institute has received a total of 378 offers in this year’s placement drive, including PPOs and Day 1 placement offers.
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) received a total of 164 job offers in the first day of the placement drive for the academic year 2023-24. Additionally, students received 214 pre-placement offers (PPO).
The institute said most of the job offers were in the sectors of core engineering and finance profiles. Eleven placement offers were made with the highest salary package of more than Rs 1 crore. On the first day of the placement drive last year, seven offers were made in the academic year 2022-23.
A total of 1,491 students have registered for placements across different streams of study this year. 262 companies have registered for phase 1 along with 7 public sector undertakings.
The top recruiters of this year’s first two sessions include Google, Microsoft, Bajaj, HPCL, Navi, Piramal, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments among others. As per the latest updates, the institute is expected to continue the phase I of IIT Guwahati placements till December 15, 2023.

“Session 1.1 of placements at IIT Guwahati began at around 12 am (midnight) while session 1.2 commenced at around 8 am. The final session of 1.3 began at 4 pm and is scheduled to conclude by midnight,” it said.
Lalit Mohan Pandey, head of Center for Career Development said: “IIT Guwahati defies global recession by maintaining the steady placement statistics. This process is assisting in fostering a comprehensive understanding on the part of both the employer and potential employee.”
Congratulating the students, IIT Guwahati officiating director Rajeev Ahuja said: “We are glad to see the participation of huge numbers of recruiters from different sectors enthusiastically hiring the talented pool of IIT Guwahati. The students are encouraged to join the core sectors.”
