Under the Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan, IIT Guwahati will be conducting state-level activities such as quiz, olympiads and clubs for students in Assam.

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) signs an agreement with Samagra Shiksha, Assam (SSA) and will be organising activities to strengthen students' ability to handle competitive environment and develop scientific temper.
Under the Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan by the ministry of education, IIT Guwahati will be supporting SSA to conduct various activities in state-run school in Assam for secondary students. State-level activities include- quiz competition, science and math olympiad, mentoring 300 school across Assam, science and math club formation in such schools and children's science exhibition.

For the aforementioned activities, IIT Guwahati will be preparing a roadmap and an activity calendar for implementation of tinkering labs across all districts in Assam. The roadmap and activity calendar will include-
IITG launched the qualifying round for the quiz competition in online mode that witness participation from around 5000 students from 33 districts of the state of Assam. The topics of the quiz competition included science and technology, history, geography, culture, sports, business and current affairs. Toppers from each district will be called for the final leg of the competition in the first week of March 2023.

Speaking about IIT Guwahati’s collaboration with Samagra Shiksha, Assam, IITG, officiating director, Parameswar K Iyer, said: “IIT Guwahati is glad to contribute in the area focusing on the development of scientific temper among school students. Under the Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan of the Ministry of Education, the Institute is collaborating with other higher education Institutes of the state for mentoring higher secondary schools across Assam.”
