IIT Hyderabad Placements 2022: Over 500 job offers; highest package at Rs 63.7 lakh

IIT-H phase 1 of placements has recorded total of 508 placement offers including 54 international offers from 144 Indian and international companies.
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT-H) recorded a total of 508 placement offers from 144 companies during phase one of campus placements held from December 1 to 7, 2022. Over 700 students have registered for placements across all departments this year.
In phase one of IIT Hyderabad placements, a total of 54 international offers have been received by students from 13 companies. The entire IIT-H campus placements phase one was held in hybrid mode where companies could conduct interviews in online or offline mode, at their convenience.

The institute has seen an increase as compared to last year when IIT-H saw 46 international offers in both phase one and two. The first graduating batch of BTech in the AI department at IIT Hyderabad has had an 82 percent placement rate within the first week of placement process. In addition to this, the total number of students choosing semester-long internships has also increased to 51, as compared to 33 last year.
The prominent hiring sectors included core engineering, IT and software, finance and consulting. IIT Hyderabad highest package is Rs 63.78 lakh while the average package stands at Rs 19.49 lakh. The IIT-H placement season began with a total of 99 pre-placement offers (PPOs) while the institute had only 82 PPOs last year. The IIT Hyderabad placements phase 2 will continue in January 2023.
Expressing his delight on the best placements season so far, IIT Hyderabad, director, B S Murty, said: “We believe in creating industry-ready talent with strong fundamentals, which certainly will fetch the dream jobs for the students. The various initiatives taken in the last two years, like Internship for BTech, Interdisciplinary MTech & so on, have made us achieve these numbers, and we will continuously innovate to make our students prepared to fulfil their dreams.”
Speaking about Phase-1 of campus placements, IIT Hyderabad, faculty in-charge (office of career services), Abhinav Kumar, IITH, said: “The OCS student team has been continuously working along with our OCS staff to facilitate the placement and internship process at IITH. We are glad to see that the placement season at IITH has started on a positive note.”
