IIT Indore’s director Neelesh Kumar Jain and IIM Indore’s director Himanshu Rai signed an agreement in the month of September last year to offer the online course.

“The participants enrolling in this Master's Programme in #DataScience & #Management would get a chance to interact with the faculty from IIt Indore and IIMIndore, thereby enhancing their knowledge in both technical & managerial fields, said Rai,” IIM Indore said in a tweet.
The new programme will cover data, technology, people and enterprise strategy, IIT Indore said in a statement.
The programme has been designed in such a way that it meets the requirements for the working executives in data science and management.
Jain said that Indore is the only city to have both IIT and IIM. “The thought of utilizing this opportunity was being contemplated for a long time. We had inked an MoU last year in September to share our resources and work towards joint programmes. I am very happy that the thought process has now been executed with the introduction of Master of Science in Data Science and Management,” he said.
Jain further said that though they are starting the programme in online mode, very soon it will be converted to offline mode with both the institutes hosting the executives.
Rai said: “We will be offering a Master’s Programme in Data Science and Management in synchronous mode. With a batch size of 200 participants, this programme will provide them with an opportunity to choose electives of their choice from both IIM Indore and IIT Indore and interact with the faculty members from both of these institutions; thereby enhancing their skills and knowledge.”
