NEW DELHI: The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has impacted major examinations for the upcoming academic session. However, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ through his official Twitter handle addressed the students, teachers and parents to make crucial decisions on Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains and JEE Advanced), National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), CBSE and state board exams for 2021 academic session through several live webinars. Given below are the latest updates on 2021 exams.

After repeated request to postpone and reduce the syllabus, the education minister announced on December 31 that the CBSE board examination for Classes 10 and 12 will be conducted from May 4 to June 10. The minister also mentioned that the CBSE board practicals will be held in March 2021. Students appearing for the CBSE 2021 board can expect their results by July 15. Due to the ongoing circumstances, the Central Board of Secondary Education clarified the CBSE syllabus reduction by 30 percent for the upcoming board exams.
In a major relief for the aspirants, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had announced that JEE Mains 2021 will be conducted four times, in February, March, April and May. The authorities had released JEE Main application form 2021 on December 16, 2020. Another important aspect is that the authorities shall conduct JEE Main in 11 regional languages, apart from English and Hindi. Candidates have the opportunity to apply once for all sessions. The authorities shall also reopen the JEE Main registration facility for a while after an exam session is concluded.
In a recent tweet, the education minister has said that the dates for the upcoming JEE Advanced date 2021 will be announced on January 7 at 6 PM during a live webinar. He will also declare the eligibility criteria to get admission into the IITs. However, JEE Advanced 2021 exam date is expected to be scheduled in June after the last session of JEE Main 2021 is concluded by May 28.
Although there is no NEET 2021 latest news by NTA or any other official resources, there is some buzz that the exam will be held in May. The Minister of Education is soon expected to announce the NEET exam date 2021. Thereafter, the NEET 2021 application form will be released and candidates wanting to pursue MBBS will be able to register online.
