IIT Jodhpur, MNIT Jaipur inks pact with Alliance Française for launching French courses

Alliance Française Jaipur wil launch optional French courses, certificate beginners course and credit-awarding programmes at IIT Jodhpur and MNIT Jaipur.
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Jodhpur) and Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT Jaipur) have signed an agreement with Alliance Française Jaipur. The partnership aims at promoting French language education and cultural exchange within the academic community. The agreement comes days after French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Jaipur.
As per the agreement, IIT Jodhpur and MNIT Jaipur will offer optional French courses. The courses will be available to students, faculty members, and their families. The institutes will also offer certificate beginners course and credit-awarding programmes.
MNIT Jaipur dean international affairs Rakesh Jain said, "We proudly announce the commencement of the French language program to students, staff, faculty, and others from MNIT fraternity. We believe that learning a new language is not just about acquiring words; it's about embracing a culture, broadening horizons, and fostering global connections.”
IIT Jodhpur international relations Surajit Ghosh said, “I am delighted to announce that, with the shared objective of fostering collaboration and advancing the French language, Alliance Française de Jaipur (AF Jaipur) has initiated a partnership with the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IIT Jodhpur). This collaboration is designed to provide French language classes to students not having French in their curriculum, as well as to the staff, faculty, and other members of the IITJ Fraternity.”

The Alliance Française Jaipur is renowned for hosting a myriad of events, including exhibitions, seminars, online and offline meetings with eminent French personalities, concerts, French cinema showings, French theatre performances, literary readings, etc.
Alliance Française office in Udaipur
An annex of Alliance Française in Udaipur is scheduled for inauguration in early 2024. This annex will serve the entire region of Udaipur and its neighboring territories, encompassing over 150 institutions of higher education and schools. In collaboration with the Maharana Mewar Public School and the City Palace of Udaipur, the annex will provide French language classes, DELF examinations, and cultural programming. The office will be situated in the City Palace of Udaipur, accessible to the general public.
