IIT Kanpur, ISKCON sign agreement for value-based education and student well-being

Two-year partnership will offer voluntary courses on self- management, wellness, stress management and personal development for IITK student
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) have signed an agreement to collaborate on initiatives focused on value-based education, holistic well-being, ethical leadership and character development among students.
The agreement will remain in force for two years and provides a framework for ISKCON to conduct voluntary educational and well-being programmes for interested IIT Kanpur students.
Under the collaboration, ISKCON may offer certified courses covering areas such as self-management, wellness, personal development, stress management and self-esteem. The programmes are intended to complement student's academic pursuits with opportunities for personal growth and holistic development.
ISKCON to offer certified student courses
Each course offered under the collaboration will comprise eight one-hour sessions. Participation in these programmes will be entirely voluntary for IIT Kanpur students.
Students who benefit from the programmes may also choose to participate voluntarily in advanced courses, mentorship initiatives, educational visits and experiential learning opportunities organised by ISKCON. These initiatives will provide students with additional avenues for personal development and learning.
Partnership focuses on holistic student development
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment by IIT Kanpur and ISKCON to create opportunities that complement academic education with ethical values, self-discipline and well-being.
The programmes will focus on areas including wellness, stress management and personal development, with the broader objective of supporting students' holistic development alongside their academic pursuits.
IIT Kanpur, ISKCON formalise two-year collaboration
The agreement was signed by Prem Harinam Das, president, ISKCON Kanpur, on behalf of ISKCON. Pratik Sen, dean of students affairs, IIT Kanopur, signed the agreement on the behalf of the institute. The partnership marks a step towards fostering a more holistic educational environment at IIT Kanpur. It will provide interested students with additional opportunities for value-based learning, personal development and well-being.
