IIT Kharagpur Placements: 33% students not placed last year, institute replies to RTI

As per IIT Kharagpur's reply to RTI, the Careers Development Centre (CDC) placed a total of 1,675 students with 574 receiving pre-placement offers in 2022-23.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) has responded to the Right to Information (RTI) application regarding the placement record of the institution. According to IIT Kharagpur's response to the RTI application, the Careers Development Centre (CDC) placed a total of 1,615 students, with just 404 receiving pre-placement offers.
According to the RTI reply to Dheeraj Singh, an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and founder of Global IIT Alumni Support Group, 33% students were not placed in IIT Kharagpur placements last year. As per the data shared by the institute, a total of 1,675 students were placed by CDS and 574 received pre-placement offers. The IIT-Kharagpur placement data shared is as follows.

IIT Kharagpur Placement 2023-24: 700 placement offers on day 1
The IIT Kharagpur witnessed over 700 placement offers, including Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs), on the first day of the 2023 placement session, according to a statement from the institute. Students received over 19 international offers on the first day of the placement drive, with six receiving packages of more than Rs 1 crore.
An official statement said, "More than 61 companies offered various roles to our students mainly in the profile of software, analytics, finance–banking, consulting and core engineering which includes the Pre-placement offers from Apple, Arthur D Little, Da Vinci, Capital One, DE Shaw, EXL Services, Glean, Google, Graviton, Microsoft, Mckinsey, Quantbox, Databricks, Square point, TSM, Palo Alto and many more."

Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Tata Group are among the companies that have participated in the IIT placement 2023-24 at IIT Bombay, Delhi, Calcutta, Roorkee, and Guwahati.
IIT Bombay Placement 2023-24: PPO offers and participating companies
In the first phase of IIT Bombay 's placement drive 2023, over 200 students have accepted pre-placement offers. Renowned companies such as PSUs, HPCL, C-DOT, ONGC, Google India, Apple, Microsoft, Sony, and Tata Group are actively participating in this phase, continuing until December 15, 2023.
IIT Delhi Placement 2023-24: Job offers and international opportunities
By December 1, IIT Delhi students secured 480 full-time job offers, including pre-placement offers, with approximately 450 unique selections. Notably, 25 students received job offers from esteemed companies based in Hong Kong, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

IIT Roorkee Placements 2023-24: 504 job offers
IIT Roorkee students have received 504 job offers, including pre-placement offers from the placement drive and 16 international offers.
Accenture Japan, American Express, Axis Bank, Barclays, Groww, ICICI Lombard, Infoedge, Inito, Meesho, Nation with Namo, Palo Alto Network, Samsung R&D Institute, Skiify Solutions, Standard Chartered, SuperAGI, Tata AiG, Wells Fargo, and others are among the firms that have participated in IIT Roorkee placement 2023-24.
