NICE 2023 is the second edition of the national expedition contest, which was inaugurated in 2022. It comprises three stages. Stage 1 further encompasses four rounds, on qualifying which, the candidate gains entry into Stage 2. Stage 2 is an offline team contest. In this stage, five zonal rounds are held where qualifying students are required to form two-member teams to represent their institutions.

Students who emerge as winners of zonal finals then confront each other in the national capital to play the grand finale and claim the championship trophy.
