IIT Madras launches a one-year PG diploma in manufacturing analytics to equip professionals with AI, ML and data-driven skills for digital transformation in industry.
The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has launched a new postgraduate diploma in manufacturing analytics, aimed at equipping professionals and graduates with data-driven transformation in the manufacturing industry.
The department of data science and artificial intelligence is under the Wadhwani school of data science and AI offering the one-year, web-enabled programme. The course is heavily oriented towards practical learning and, therefore, it integrates both fundamental mathematical principles with new technologies at the intersection of learning like machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI. It focuses on the practical manufacturing scenarios, which means that the learners can use advanced analytics tools practically in the industrial context.
The institute says the diploma has been drafted in such a manner as to close the gap between the academic and industry requirements. The programme should also enable the participants to make informed and data-driven decisions by integrating academic rigour with practical implementation modules and enhance productivity at the shop floor and beyond.
