IIT Roorkee bags highest international salary of Rs 2.15 crore on first day

IIT Roorkee Placement 2021: A total of 13 international offers were made on December 1, till 2 pm. While three students got a domestic salary offer of Rs 1.3-1.8 crore.
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee bagged the highest international salary of Rs 2.15 crore on the first day of placement session 2021-22. A total of 13 international offers were made on December 1, till 2 pm. While three students got a domestic salary offer of Rs 1.3-1.8 crore.
As many as 35 companies with multiple profiles participated in the placement drive (in two slots) till 2 pm. And, the institute received 437 offers including pre-placement offers.

This year, the highest domestic CTC saw a significant increase compared to last year. While, the international CTC saw a three-fold jump from last year’s Rs 69.05 lakh to Rs 215 lakh.
IIT Roorkee said in a release, “Certain sessions before the placement season for the students to explore various fields and their interest in the growing market were also conducted and accordingly the Institute reached out the best rising firms in those respective sectors as well.”
Vinay Sharma in-charge, placement and internship cell, IIT Roorkee, said, “Pandemic scenario has brought some directional changes in the placement scenario. We accordingly made our strategy for this placements season, wherein we tied up with the best of the companies in the Sectors related to AI, Software, Networks, Analytics, E-Commerce, FMCG, Quants, Finance, Manufacturing and others with sincere focus on the core sector.”

The recruiters who visited include Alphagrep Securities Private Limited, Amazon, Apple, APT Portfolio Pvt. Ltd., Bajaj Auto Limited, Cairn Oil & Gas, Codenation, Da Vinci Derivatives, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, Google, Graviton Research Capital LLP, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Infurnia Technologies, Intel Technologies, ITC Ltd., Jaguar Land Rover, JPMC Quant, Mercedes Benz, Micron Technologies Operations India LLP, Microsoft, Millennium Management, nVidia, Oracle, Plutus Research Pvt. Ltd., Quadeye, Qualcomm, QuantBox, SAP Labs, Schlumberger, Sprinklr, Squarepoint Capital, Tata Steel, Texas Instrument, Trexquant, Uber.
IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati started the placement drive on December 1. All the three IITs also witnessed a record placement on the first day. Uber offered the highest international CTC of Rs 2.05 crore ($274,000) at IIT Guwahati and IIT Bombay. While, IIT Guwahati got more than 200 offers in phase 1.
