IIT-Roorkee wins the 'most innovative research institute of the year' at CII Industrial Innovation Awards 2022 for the third consecutive year.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT-R) bags the award for 'most innovative research institute of the year' at Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for the Industrial Innovation Awards 2022. IIT-Madras becomes the first runner-up in the same category.
The Institute won the award at the 9th edition of the award ceremony for the third consecutive year druign the CII Advanced Materials Summit 2022. It has achieved the three pillars of innovation- disruptive innovation, innovation quotient, and innovation realisation. IIT-R was also announced the category winner for 'innovation quotient' for work in the field of energy storage devices, remediation and technology among other sectors.

On this occasion, CII has also launched a compendium featuring the innovations mentioned above of IIT Roorkee, along with the innovations of the other leading Innovative Organizations of 2022. A few initiatives launched by IIT Roorkee to encourage industry-academia collaborations include Tech-Sarthi scheme, startup Expo, technology carnivals, among various others.
In addition to this, the institution is currently supporting over 130 start-ups through its technology incubation and entrepreneurship development society (TIDES) and I-hub Divyasampark.
Congratulating the Institute and all the stakeholders, IIT Roorkee, director, K K Pant, said: "We are thrilled to receive CII's Industrial Innovation Award for three consecutive years in a row. The Institute is keen on the overall development of the students and imparting the skill of research and entrepreneurship.
