NEW DELHI: The image of an exam pattern for the national medical entrance exam, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, or NEET 2021, circulating on social media is fake, the government has warned candidates. The morphed image of the supposed NEET 2021 exam pattern has caused confusion as it suggests the total number of questions has decreased to 160 from 180. The government via the Press Information Bureau’s PIB Fact Check social media page has clarified that the NEET exam pattern 2021 has not been released by the National Testing Agency. The NTA conducts NEET.

Earlier this month, NTA released a notification announcing the NEET 2021 exam date. NEET 2021 will be held on August 1 in a pen-paper mode. The NTA notification further stated that the information bulletin with details on NEET 2021 will be released soon at ntaneet.nic.in. The NEET UG 2021 application form will be released along with the information bulletin. No other notification or information on NEET exam has been released by NTA yet.
On March 22, 2021, the official twitter handle of PIB Fact Check tweeted that the NEET exam pattern being shared on social media is fake. The tweet further said that the exam pattern being shared has not been released by the NTA. Via the tweet the authorities advised students to visit the NTA official website - nta.ac.in for any updates on NEET 2021.

The NTA via its official handle also responded to student queries on the fake NEET exam pattern. NTA said “It's fake. Candidates and parents are advised to wait for the official launch of the Application Form and Information Bulletin on the official website of NTA and NEET (UG).”
