New DELHI, November 14: Directorate General of Medical Science (DGMS) has commenced the registration process for Indian Army B.Sc. Nursing on November 14. Only female candidates can apply for the entrance test. Along with the application form, the authority has released the admission notice for the upcoming academic year. This year, there has been a substantial increase in the prescribed application fee. Instead of Rs 150 which was the fee till last year, candidates will now have to pay Rs 750/-. The exam which was earlier conducted in offline mode will now be a computer-based test which will be conducted in the month of April. Those who will qualify the entrance test will be called for interview in the month of May 2020.

Physical standards: The minimum height for the female candidates has been increased by 152 cms. Only Gorkhas, North Eastern region, Gharwal, and Kumaon candidates will be accepted with a minimum height of 148 cms.

Increase in seats: There has been an increase of 60 seats for the upcoming session. A total of 220 seats will be offered in Pune, Kolkata, Asvini, New Delhi, Lucknow and Banglore.

Dates changed: The authority has changed the examination schedule. The exam which was earlier conducted in the month of January will now be conducted in the month of April. The admit card will be released in the third week of March. The interview for the selection will be done in the month of May.

Mode of exam: The exam will be now conducted in computer-based mode instead of pen and paper-based mode.

Steps to fill the application form

Eligible candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can fill the application form on or before December 2. Candidates can check the steps to fill the application form listed below.

  • Registration: In order to fill the application form must register on the official website ‘joinindianarmy.nic.in’

  • Filling the application form: Registered candidates will be required to fill the application using their login credential.

  • Payment of fee: The registration will be successful only after the payment of the prescribed fee.

  • Choosing test centre: The option to choose the exam centre will open only after the payment of a fee. Candidates will have an option to choose from 30 test centre.

  • Printing of application form: Candidates are advised to take a print out of the duly filled application form for future references.

About Indian Army B.Sc. Nursing exam

DGMS (Indian Army) conducts the entrance test annually for the 4-years course at the colleges of Nursing of Armed Forces Medical Services. Candidates will be granted permanent/short service commission in the Military Nursing Service, under the terms and conditions laid down for grant of such commission.
