The BSc Aeronautics dual degree programme offered by JMI and ICPL will provide students with comprehensive training.

NEW DELHI: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has signed an agreement with Indocopter Private Limited (ICPL) for BSc Aeronautics dual degree programme. The collaboration aims at catering to the growing demand for skilled professionals in the aviation industry.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of distinguished personalities including JMI's Vice Chancellor, Najma Akhtar, Mini Thomas, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Anwar Shahzad Siddiqui, Nodal Officer for the BSc Aeronautics Programme at JMI, Sanjay Shrivastava, QM at ICPL, and other senior officials.
The BSc Aeronautics dual degree programme offered by JMI and ICPL will provide students with comprehensive training. While JMI will confer the BSc degree, ICPL will issue a Certificate of Recognition (C of R) in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, subject to the necessary approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India and after passing the DGCA module exam, students will be eligible to receive a license issued by the DGCA.

ICPL is a well-established organization in the aviation industry, specialising in helicopter maintenance and support. Holding approvals from DGCA as a CAR 145 and CAR M Maintenance Organization (MRO), ICPL offers round-the-clock assistance for Airbus, Leonardo, and Bell Textron helicopters. With a state-of-the-art MRO facility in Greater Noida and several well-equipped sub-bases across India and neighboring countries such as Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, ICPL has established itself as a leader in the field.

JMI has been successfully running the BSc Aeronautics dual degree program since 2018, with several batches of students who have graduated from the course. The ongoing batches, which include BSc (Aeronautics), B1.3 (Mechanical), and B2 (Avionics), consist of students from 2021 and 2022. Successful graduates have secured placements in organizations such as the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), the Indian Army, United Airlines, Indigo Airlines, Air India, Enord Private Limited, Far Eye Logistics, and various other MRO organizations in India.
