NEW DELHI: The Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE Main 2022) postponement comes as a relief to the engineering aspirants as there was no sufficient time gap between JEE Main 2022 exam dates and board exams 2022. However, as per the revised dates, the JEE Main 2022 session 2 will be held between July 21 to 30 and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay had already announced to conduct the JEE Advanced exam on July 3.

Consequently, the JEE Advanced 2022 exam date is expected to be postponed to August or September. This is likely to delay academic sessions at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has rescheduled the JEE Main 2022 exam for the second time. Earlier, the NTA revised the dates to avoid a clash with CBSE, ICSE and other state board exams 2022. Following this, students were disappointed over two attempts, a clash with board exams and less gap between sessions started demanding postponement. #JEEStudentsWantJustice was trending on social media.
Considering the requests, the NTA had rescheduled the JEE Main 2022 exam dates again. As per the latest notice, session 1 of the engineering exam will be held between June 20 to 29, and JEE Main session 2 will be conducted between July 21 to 30.
On the other hand, the IIT Bombay had in February announced that the registration process for the JEE Advanced 2022 will be conducted on the official website jeeadv.ac.in from June 8 and conclude by June 14.
JEE Advanced 2022 exam is held every year for candidates who want to take admission at various IITs. Only those candidates who secure a rank under 2,50,000 in JEE Mains 2022 exam will be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2022.
Further, the revised JEE Mains 2022 exam dates are also likely to impact other engineering entrance exams conducted by different states across India such as the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET), Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET), Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET), Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) entrance exams among others.
