JEE Advanced 2023: Fee revised for foreign nationals, Qualified candidates to compete for open category seats

Try NowNEW DELHI: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced fee for candidates belonging to Overseas Citizen of India/ Person of Indian Origin (OCI/PIO) categories have been revised. Now the JEE Advanced 2023 fee for foreign nationals will be at par with the Indian national candidates. The JEE Advanced 2023 eligibility criteria however remain the same. OCI and PIO candidates will be eligible to appear directly for JEE Advanced 2023 without appearing in JEE Main 2023.
Moreover, during the seat allocation process for IITs, the eligible OCI and PIO candidates who qualify in JEE Advanced 2023 will be eligible to compete for the Open category seats in the General (GEN) and GEN-Person with Disability (PwD) categories as applicable.

Eligible female OCI and PIO candidates who qualify in JEE Advanced 2023 shall also be entitled to be considered for the Open Female Supernumerary seats in GEN and GEN-PwD categories as applicable.
The decision to revise the criteria is in response to the Writ Petition (Civil) No. 891/ 2021, titled as Anushka Rengunthwar & Ors. Vs Union of India & Ors. and the judgement made by the Supreme Court. The effect of the judgment has been considered by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2023 in its emergency meeting held on March 6, 2023.
IIT Guwahati will conduct the JEE Advanced examination 2023 for both paper 1 and paper 2 on June 4. Online application for JEE Advanced 2023 is scheduled to be start from April 30.
