JEE Advanced 2024: IIT Madras adds 3 cities abroad; highest in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has notified the list of exam cities where the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced 2024) will be held this year. The institute has announced that it will conduct the entrance exam in three cities outside India in Abhu Dhabi, Dubai, and Kathmandu.

Eligible candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2024 and obtained a rank in the top 2.5 lakh will have to submit the JEE Adv application form 2024 by May 7 through the official website, jeeadv.ac.in. Applicants will have to choose 8 exam cities of their choice in the order of preference while filling the application form.
“Efforts will be made to allot the city/town from among the candidate’s choices, but a different city/town may be allotted under exceptional circumstances. Requests for change of city/town will NOT be entertained under any circumstances,” it had said.
The number of cities or towns have been increased compared to the tentative list announced earlier along with the information bulletin.
As per the latest list, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra have the highest number of 26 exam cities, followed by Uttar Pradesh with 18 exam cities and Gujarat and Karnataka have 12 exam cities allotted for the conduct of JEE Advanced.
Step by step instructions to fill JEE Adv form 2024
Candidates can follow the steps given below to apply for IIT JEE Advanced exam 2024.
Registration - Visit the IIT JEE official website, jeeadv.ac.in. Under the important announcements, press the ‘Click here’ button under the title ‘Online registration for all eligible candidates’. The page will be redirected to the application portal. Key in JEE Main 2024 application number, JEE Advanced password and security pin to register.
Application fees - Fill in all the details asked in the application form. The category-wise application fees will be displayed on the screen. Make your payment through online mode.
Upload documents - Candidates will have to upload the following documents in the prescribed format.
- Class 10 mark sheet or birth certificate
- Class 12 or equivalent mark sheet
- Category certificate
- PwD certificate, if applicable
- Persons having less than 40% disability and having difficulty in writing certificate
- Scribe request letter
- Compensatory time request letter
- DS certificate
- OCI, PIO Card, Foreign Passport or Citizenship certificate.
